Install the BPHE always vertically see example. Use in
case of vibrations, oscillations or pulsation - compensators or
flexible pipes, so that the heat exchanger is mounted vibration-free.
Maximum connection forces and torques must not be exceeded.
Use for connection sizes > 1/2" flexible pipe connections to compensate thermal expansion.
The pipes must be connected tension free to the heat exchanger.
Assemble the heat exchanger vertically, support the exchanger either from the bottom or mount him with a metal clamp
(with a rubber layer of at least 4 mm between the clamp and heat exchanger).
Soldering: Clean surfaces and apply flux. Use only solder with a minimum content
of 45% silver and protect the heat exchanger from the inside with an inert gas, eg Nitrogen,
from oxidation. Align the soldering torch only on the pipes. Protect the heat
exchanger with a wet cloth from overheating, excessive heat destroys the BPHE. The heat exchanger
may be removed only in a cold and unpressurised condition.
The assembly and disassembly of the heat exchanger should be performed only by qualified personnel.
In dealing with the heat exchangers work gloves should be worn.
Use for cleaning at room temperature only weak acids, such as 5% phosphorus,
or 4% oxalic acid and pump the acid / base several times the operating
direction opposite through the heat exchanger. Don't leave the acid for long periods
in heat exchanger. After cleaning the heat exchanger needs to be
thoroughly rinsed with water. Use when handling acids suitable gloves and eye protection.
Use for both sides filter with a mesh size of <= 1 mm,
so that the channels could not be closed by coarse containments.
To operate all necessary precautions to prevent burns and
scalds. The specified maximum operating temperature and the
specified maximum operating pressure should never be exceeded.
Excessive pressure and temperature fluctuations should be avoided.
The heat exchanger is to be protected by a pressure relief valve.
Protect the heat exchanger from freezing. Use a flow monitor.
Check the heat exchanger after start and periodically during operation.
Valves must be opened and closed slowly because of the heat exchanger
can be damaged by pressure peaks.
After 4 years, a cleaning of the heat exchanger is required.
